REVISED: Terry Crews on "Larry King Now"
ENG 202D – Interviewing Prep
Terry Crews on “Larry King Now”
1. How did you go from the NFL, 7 years and
6 different teams, to acting?
I think this is a great starter to warm up
the interviewee. It kind of sets the tone of the interview and allows the interviewee
to share his story at his own pace.
2. Which was? (relates to #1 asking about
the first audition)
Following up right away to find out what
the first audition Terry had done. Flat
3. You were at the golden globes at night,
what went through your mind?
This question allows Terry to share his
feelings and thoughts. I feel like questions like this allows the interviewee to
really put in some thought and express what went on in his mind.
4. Have you ever been to the golden globe?
This question allows the audience to know
that this is Terry’s first time at the Golden Globe which makes it more special
for him and from the video you can tell that he is excited to explain his
experience there.
5. Because? (asking why they weren’t
allowed to sit at the table)
This is a follow up question to question 6
and these little interruptions help me get a bigger picture of what was
happening at that moment.
6. What’s it like to work with Samberg?
I feel like this question was kind of flat/all
the sudden. As Terry was explaining his experience at the Golden Globe, Larry
all the sudden asked this as if he was rushing through his questions. It was
quite a transition.
7. Is it true that Jeff Daniels made you
better?
It was a way to kind of change the tone of
the interview and move to a different topic within acting. Also this question allows
the audience to see what kind of a person Jeff is and how it affect Terry in
his carrier.
8. How so? (relate to #11)
Following up, Terry gave a great response.
9. Are you as comfortable with comedy as
drama?
Terry gives a great explanation about the
difference between drama and comedy. And it seems like this question grabs Terry’s
attention and we can see that he gets a little hyped about it as well.
